STREET SPIRIT

Working on the street and creating visual images, plots, and inventing characters, then placing them in an urban context, the artists weave their own threads into the common mythological web of Moscow. Dots on the map indicating the location of iconic street art objects are assembled into entire walking routes and quests, and the discovery of street art objects by a random city dweller can turn their routine movement through the streets into a continuous exciting game. The artists presented at the exhibition depart from traditional graffiti techniques but continue to develop street art ideas with alternative technical means and techniques.

The exhibition will feature bas-reliefs, sculptures, paintings, and graphics. The exhibition is conventionally divided into two main sections. The first section exhibits works created by artists for the outdoor environment: plaster tiles and bas-reliefs. The second section of the exhibition is devoted to easel paintings, which are created in the artist’s studio for display in gallery and museum spaces. In this section, the authors develop and expand their own mythology and visual imagery, being in search of new ways to combine color, form, and content on the plane.
