CONNECTION

This project explores the issue of the excessive desires people have in the modern world. Many individuals aspire to be someone else rather than embracing their true selves, often overlooking the significance of the local context that surrounds them. To represent this concept, I selected two objects that are polar opposites in terms of their context within the terrain. By duplicating abstract shapes, I established a unique connection between these objects, creating a portal-like effect that appears to interchange the two.
In December, the "Superspace" object was created in the Uktus area of Yekaterinburg. Despite the lengthy and challenging preparation, it was exhibited for only a few days. An idea emerged to revive the object and give it a second life, albeit in a different form. The remnants of the abandoned shards of "Superspace" desire to regain their former state, to ignite and radiate on the Uktus mountains. Meanwhile, the brick walls of the abandoned building aspire to occupy the position of these debris, seeking to serve a utilitarian purpose, even if it means becoming a metaphorical coffin.
These objects are situated in two distinctly polar locations. The site featuring street art is positioned in the bustling center of Chelyabinsk along a busy highway, where noise and crowds prevail. On the other hand, the assemblage is located in a serene park, where silence often prevails, occasionally interrupted by the rustle of footsteps and the melodious songs of birds.

Through the repetition of abstract forms, both objects appear to be interconnected, forming a portal-like effect. This portal allows them to momentarily exchange places, enabling them to find themselves in the location they truly desire.
In this canvas, the art and personality of the artist intertwine. An artist is inherently a fusion of everyday, economic, and creative aspects, not always aligned with reality. The artist yearns to fully immerse themselves in their creativity, while art yearns to transcend its physical boundaries and venture beyond the limitations that restrict its plasticity.
