SECONDS TO FALL

The new way of life also gives rise to new sensations. Digital internet addiction is a relatively new but already socially epidemic psychological phenomenon, partially reflected in the new international classification of mental disorders, DSM-5, as Internet Gaming Disorder. English psychologist Mark Griffiths states, "Internet addiction is a non-chemical behavioral addiction that involves the interaction of 'man-machine' ('computer-internet')."

However, at present, there is no full-fledged interaction between humans and "machine intelligence," but there are many theories about human modifications. One of these theories relates to digital immortality - the technology of uploading the mind through scanning and subsequently creating its digital simulation.

I want to convey the feeling of what it would be like if futuristic theories about digital immortality came true. The sensation of fear through a simple action, what it will be like in the future, and what will be the object of this fear.

In the moment of slipping, the self-preservation instinct kicks in, and the person gets back on their feet, trying to protect themselves from physical pain to the maximum. At the same time, an unusual sensation of emptiness and a vacuum in the so-called flight emerges. Digital surfing, thoughts, and ideas collide and disappear, creating a void for a moment.

If the human mind becomes part of the digital mind, will this emptiness devoid of informational noise remain? Will there be fear in the cyber shell of a human? And what kind of fear will replace the fear of death?
